Computer Networking:- It is group of computer system in which each computer are interconnect with each other with the purpose of sharing data, information and networking devices.
Types of Networks:- There are four types of Networks.
1.      LAN:- Local Area Network
2.      CAN:- Campus Area Network
3.      WAN:- Wide Area Network
4.      MAN:- Metropolitan Area Network
LAN:- Local area network (LAN) is a group of computers and associated devices that share a common communications line or wireless link.

CAN:- Campus Area Network is a group of computer with limited geographical space, such as a school campus or a military base.

WAN:-   A Wide area network spans a large geographic area, such as a state, province or country. WANs often connect multiple smaller networks, such as local area networks (LANs) or metro area networks. Transmission rates are typically 2 Mbps, 34 Mbps, 45 Mbps, 155 Mbps, 625 Mbps (or sometimes considerably more).

Man:- A Metropolitan Area Network intermediate between a local area network (LAN) and a wide area network (WAN).

Network Topology:-
A network topology describes the arrangement of systems on a computer network. It defines how the computers, or nodes, within the network are arranged and connected to each other.

Types of Topology:-
1.       Bus Topology
2.       Star Topology
3.       Ring Topology
4.       Tree topology
5.       Mash Topology

1.       Bus Topology:- All devices are connected to a central cable, called the bus Topology. Bus networks are relatively inexpensive and easy to install for small networks.

2.       Star Topology:-  All devices are connected to a central hub. Star networks are relatively easy to install and manage.

3.       Ring Topology:- All devices are connected to one another in the shape of a closed loop, so that each device is connected directly to two other devices, one on either side of it. Ring topologies are relatively expensive and difficult to install, but they offer high bandwidth and can span large distances.

4.       Tree Topology:- A tree topology combines characteristics of linear bus and star topologies. It consists of groups of star-configured workstations connected to a linear bus backbone cable.
